What you need to know NOW!
SO…..You’ve found your true love, and are ready to begin living happily ever after. But first there is the wedding to plan and prepare
!
In twenty years of helping brides and their families to plan weddings I have recognized that whether the engagement is a long one allowing for more than a year to put the plan in motion, or a short one that only allows a few months or even weeks, the basic order of doing things remains the same.
This book is designed to help you with the “What comes first” question.
Long ago when I was planning my own wedding, there were only a few books on the market to give brides advice and they were mostly concerned with etiquette matters. To keep my information together I carried around a stenographer’s spiral notebook and a roll of tape. As I visited each potential vendor I would make notes on my note pad and attach each business card to the page with tape. That worked, but the process was cumbersome.
Today however newsstands are loaded with bridal magazines offering lovely pictures of dresses, locations, refreshments, floral designs and wonderful tips for everything from furnishing your new home to dealing with angry bridesmaids. The internet is also another source of great information, ideas and suggestions. Of course you will be drawn to those resources, and they are a lot of fun. I use them all the time myself.
The “Simply Elegant Wedding Planner” however is a tool that you will treasure as you go about finding the resources you need to put together your perfect day.
Unlike my old tape tactic, each page offers a secure card holder for the business cards you collect from each vendor you choose to visit; space for important information and notes all on the same page. I suggest that you collect TWO business cards per vendor – one for yourself and one that you may have to give to someone else such as your fiancé, mother or maid of honor. Two cards will easily fit in each card holder.
